Peer Health Exchange (PHE) is a national non-profit organization that builds healthier communities with young people. Together we create education opportunities for peers to share the tools and resources young people need to make healthy choices. Since 2003, we have trained more than 15,000 college students to deliver in-person health education to over 188,000 high school-aged young people in communities across the country. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we re-designed our in-person programming to be delivered virtually and partnered with high school students to understand their mental health needs. Following that collaboration, we launched our app selfsea.org for young people ages 13 – 18. In the past year, we’ve expanded from two in-person program models to five in-person and digital program offerings and we are continuing to grow! About this opportunity!
PHE’s Youth Advisory Board (YAB) will promote and increase the leadership, involvement, and decision-making of high school aged students in advancing PHE’s health equity work. PHE's Youth Advisory Board is an opportunity for young people to be advisors to PHE and impact the health education of young people nationwide. Youth Advisory Boards will meet virtually and in-person (we're exploring providing transportation where needed) at least 2 times per month on Saturdays for 1-2 hours throughout the 2022 Spring semester. Youth Advisory Boards will collaborate with PHE staff to complete group-selected projects.
